The 6th International Conference on Contemporary Issues in Economics, Management and Business (6th CIEMB 2023) will be joinly organized by National Economics University (NEU) and Australian National University (ANU) in Hanoi, Vietnam. The aim of the conference is to create a forum for scholars from different academic fields of economics, business and management to exchange and present their research. The conference will provide a platform for debates on contemporary issues of aforementioned fields, supporting strategies to stimulate sustainable worldwide growth and development.

Prof. Ippei Fujiwara

He is Professor of Economics at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Professor of Economics at Faculty of Economics at Keio University, Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Fellow of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), Research Associate at the Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Japan Director for Australia-Japan Research Centre (AJRC), and the Deputy Director at the Center for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA).

He is currently Associate Editor for European Economic Review and Japanese Economic Review.

He completed his DPhil in economics at the University of Oxford (Nuffield), and a PhD in Applied Economics at Osaka University. Professor Fujiwara worked for the Bank of Japan for 18 years before joining the Crawford School of Public Policy where his research has focused on international finance, monetary economics and macroeconomics.

His recent publications are in Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Baking and Finance, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Review of Economic Dynamics and Theoretical Economics.


Prof. Roman Matousek, Queen Mary University of London, the UK

Prof. Roman Matousek

Roman Matousek is Professor of Financial Economics. Before joining QMUL, Roman served as Director of Research Excellence and Director of the Global Centre for Banking and Financial Innovation (GCBFI) at Nottingham University Business School, University of Nottingham. Roman is also a member of the prestigious Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) International Committee. Roman served as Head of Research and Director of the Research Centre for EMEA Banking, Finance and Economics.

Prof. Roman Matousek is Distinguished International Professor at Tongji University, Shanghai, China and Honorary Professor, School of Social Sciences, Business and Management Studies, University of Dundee, Scotland. Roman has currently been appointed as the Visiting Research Economist at SEACEN Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he leads a project on “Cross-border interbank contagion risk analysis”. He was also a Visiting Research Fellow at London Business School, Birmingham University. He received a prestigious Pew Fellowship from Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, (USA) and was a Visiting Professor at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan.

Dr. Peter J. Morgan, ADB Institute

Dr. Peter J. Morgan

Peter Morgan joined the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as a senior consultant for research in December 2008 and currently also serves as Advisor to the Dean. He earned his MA and PhD in economics from Yale University. He previously served as ADBI’s Vice-Chair of Research until March 2022. He also worked in Hong Kong, China as Chief Asia Economist for HSBC where he was responsible for macroeconomic analysis and forecasting for Asia. Before that, he was Chief Japan Economist for HSBC and held comparable positions at Merrill Lynch, Barclays de Zoete Wedd, and Jardine Fleming. Prior to entering the financial industry, he worked as a consultant for Meta Systems Inc in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the United States specializing in energy and environmental areas, including energy policy issues in Asian countries.

His research focuses are macroeconomic policy and financial sector regulation, reform, financial development, financial inclusion, fintech, financial literacy, and financial education. His recent publications include Fintech and Financial Inclusion in Southeast Asia and India and Impacts of COVID-19 on Households in ASEAN Countries and Their Implications for Human Capital Development.
